This article focuses on the current disagreements between Gécamines and the Swiss giant Glencore, accused of undue tax optimization and inaccuracy in its production declarations. These disagreements between the two parties are notably due to the revision of the Mining Code, which imposes an increase in taxes and royalties, as well as to Gécamines' desire to renegotiate its partnerships.
